At work: I manage the Business Services Team at SFS Legal. We handle corporate finance, intellectual property and general commercial work for clients nationally and internationally. My specialism is intellectual property, and I have a broad experience of contentious and non-contentions matters. At SFS we work closely with our clients and take the time to understand their business as well as their medium and long term goals. In essence we act as an in-house team of lawyers, thus providing our clients with a one stop shop for all their corporate and commercial law needs.

Why: At SFS, we strive to differentiate ourselves from the stereotypical law firm. We like to work as an integral part of our client’s management team. By doing this we can deliver advice which is fine tuned to the business and legal needs of our clients. By working as in-house lawyers we overcome the difficulty in agreeing fees on a case by case basis, as we often work with clients on a retainer basis. We pride ourselves on providing direct and simple advice to clients. By understanding our client’s business we can deliver solutions that are appropriate to their business, rather than just quoting the law. In addition to our in-house legal services , we have packaged certain legal services in order to manage client’s budget, as well as simplify the contractual and legal process for business owners. For example, we have packaged services for first round investments, employment and debt recovery.
