The event enjoyed an excellent turn out of entrepreneurs, support services and investors to hear the Firebox.com Story. (Photos below).
Michael Acton Smith, co-founder of gadget site Firebox.com and serial entrepreneur spoke about his experiences of setting up a business from scratch, raising venture capital during the internet boom, teetering on the edge of bankruptcy, to reaching profitability and beyond.
Michael has also raised $11m in venture capital for his latest company Mind Candy which specialises in in the development of Multi-Player Online games. The first game was Perplex City and the latest is Moshi Monsters (a mix of Tamagotchi and Facebook for kids).
Michael gave a fascinating and inspiring address and stayed long afterwards networking with the region's entrepreneurs and investors.
