At work: We work with SME’s in a number of critical business management disciplines. As the business name implies our main “raison d’etre” is in helping business managers to find suitable sources of finance. Our services go much further than that however. We have, over the years, gained considerable expertise in the field of Rescue & Recovery, otherwise known as Business Turnaround. In this respect we can advise on management restructuring, sourcing investment finance (working with Beer & Young Ltd) and where necessary we assist clients in setting up a CVA (Company Voluntary Arrangement) working in partnership with Insolvency Practitioners.

In simple terms our objective is to help SME’s to get on their feet and then to stay there!

Why: My business partner (Tony Schofield) and I have known each other since we were at Uni together. I majored in sales & marketing and he studied accountancy, so we make a strong team. We have both worked for large corporations as well as running our own businesses, so can relate very closely to the problems and needs of SME’s. There is nothing more satisfying than helping a small business to become healthy and grow.

The Company: The business started back in the 1990’s as a general business consultancy helping small and start-up businesses to source a wide range of services from brochure design to translation and raising finance. From this grew Business Finance Services Limited, which helps SME’s throughout the UK to overcome cash flow problems, find the most suitable sources of finance and to make decisions on the structuring of the business.
