Works: I head up Nelsons' Corporate Services Team in Leicester. Nelsons have offices in Nottingham, Leicester and Derby. Most of my deals have an East Midlands focus but I will work wherever the need for corporate advice takes me. I also do a lot of cross border deals.

At work: The Nelsons' Corporate Services Team provides advice on all aspects of corporate law with particular focus on transactional work (buying and selling of companies and businesses, management buy outs/ buy ins, reorganisations, investment), banking work, joint ventures, shareholder issues and general company law. The Corporate Services Team is supported by a number of specialist support teams including our Commerce & Technology Team which advises on all types of business to business agreements.

Why: I love my job. The nature of corporate work gives me exposure to different businesses and business models (from starts ups/ spin outs/ conception to the well established and mature) in a wide range of sectors. I enjoy dealing with different types of business persons (inventors/ founders, owners, managers, entrepreneurs, buyers/sellers, investors/lenders and other professionals/advisers). I make sure I know how the businesses I deal with 'tick' and get a good understanding of the people behind them. I enjoy going that extra mile to help such persons and businesses achieve their aims/ goals.
