Pride in their Work

A Derby-based software developer has the future firmly in its sights following a management restructure and strategic review, prompted by consultancy fromConnect Midlands.

Silver Pride Software, based on Pride Park had been trading successfully for many years but following an introduction by Alan Rutherford at the London Road incubation centre, they began to explore new horizons and ambitious targets with Connect Midlands.

Working with the advisors at Connect Midlands through the InvoRed programme gave me the opportunity to explore my strategic plan in detail and put the fundamentals in place to build a more successful business,” explains Silver Pride Software director, Graham Till.

“On finishing the InvoRed Amber course, I quickly realised that in order to achieve the actions and objectives set, I would need to pull together a strong management team. In January 2009 I was joined by my fellow directors Benjamin Benn and Craig Tice and just six weeks we went from a small office above a kitchen shop in Derby to a prime office location on Pride Park.”

Silver Pride Software Ltd is now a collaboration of some of the region’s leading experts in cutting edge software development, innovative design services and e-business consultancy.  Clients benefit from a range of services from bespoke web development to design & print services.

“We continue to work closely with Connect Midlands and will soon be looking for investment in order to grow the company as we take the strategic plan forward,” concludes Mr Till.

Backed by emda and part funded by the ERDF, Connect Midlands is a not-for-profit network that aims to provide science, engineering, technology, and high-growth companies with the tools that they need to develop and to raise investment.

Free InvoRed Amber workshops are held throughout the year, across the region, with the next scheduled for 23rd-24th September in Loughborough. This two-day workshop is aimed at early stage businesses - particularly those seeking seed, start-up or early stage funding.

Delegates undertake this top-class workshop to understand what investors are really looking for, to build a sound business case and a winning investment proposition, and to learn how to undertake that all important pitch for finance.

Silver Pride’s new management team includes directors Benjamin Benn and Craig Tice, both of whom are excited by the prospects ahead for the company. “This is a great time to be joining the business as the work recently completed with Connect Midlands has given us some invaluable strategic direction,” explains Benjamin Benn.

“During May we worked on our strategic three year business plan and we now have a more thorough understanding of where and how external investment can help us achieve our long-term goals. We have also just launched our new website www.silver-pride.com.”

Fellow director Craig Tice, continues; “Our immediate goals are to get through the economic downturn and continue to build up our reputation. From there we will seek to double our turnover in the next two years and then expand into new market sectors further down the line.”
