Dragons Den comes to Nottingham
05/03/2009

Ex-Dragon and Founder of Red Letter Days, Rachel Elnaugh will be addressing the regions business owners, support organisations and investors at the next Growth Investment event in Nottingham on 18th March.
The event also offers an opportunity for businesses to pitch their ideas to a panel of Rachel and previous speakers Alex Tew (milliondollarhomepage.com) and Michael Acton Smith (firebox.com).
Toby Reid of Growth Investment commented, “This is a fabulous opportunity for businesses to hear Rachel’s inspirational story. The pitches are optional but should be a lot of fun. We are recording each pitch so it is kind of like Dragons Den meets Big Brother Diary Room. The pitches will be viewed and judged after the event.”
Toby said, “Although fun, the pitch is a unique opportunity to put your idea in front of some of the country’s leading young entrepreneurs. The winning pitches will also be widely advertised and publicised on our website and the winners will receive 3 months free online mentoring from Rachel Elnaugh, as well as tickets to the iFestival Gala Dinner”.
Rachel Elnaugh is one of Britain's highest profile female entrepreneurs. She created the market leading experiences brand Red Letter Days on a shoestring budget from the front room of her home. Red Letter Days went on to generate over £100million in turnover in the 16 years that she ran it.
After the well-publicised crash of Red Letter Days in 2005, Rachel stepped away from the media spotlight and has been working in the small business sector ever since, inspiring, motivating and helping entrepreneurs to achieve personal success.
Rachel Elnaugh, commented on the event, “There has never been a time when raising finance is more important or more difficult. This makes the work of Growth Investment and events like this even more valuable. I am looking forward to the event and to meeting more of the regions entrepreneurs.”
The event to be held at the Jubilee Campus, University of Nottingham on 18th March. For more information visit http://www.ginem.co.uk or phone 0115 701 0060. The event forms part of the iFestival calendar of events.
